Your child’s immune system protects them from contracting infectious diseases.

Here are three immune system boosting tips for your kids.

Nutritious Food is Important

A healthy immune system is built on top of a healthy body. Good nutrition is the foundation for this. Plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits are excellent sources of nutrition packed with essential vitamins such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D, iron, zinc, Vitamin A, Folic acid to strengthen your child’s immunity.

Carrots, green beans, broccoli, corn, guava, mangoes, mustard, pumpkin, sweet potato, spinach, tomatoes and watermelons are excellent examples of yummy fresh produce that you could add to your kids’ daily meals.

Include Physical Activity & Fitness

It’s common knowledge now that exercise and physical fitness are critical for a healthy body and mind. So, keeping your child physically active is essential for boosting their immunity. You can do this by encouraging them to participate in sports and other outdoor activities. The best way to inspire your kids to be physically active is by staying active at home with them.

Even if you’re stuck at home with no way to go out, there are plenty of physical activities that you can do at home with kids. You can dance with them to some music, if that’s your style. You could cycle if you have access to the space, play catch the balloon, one bump cricket, badminton, jump on the bed (if you dare), set up an indoor obstacle course, do body weight exercises, yoga or basically anything that gets you and the kids moving; even house-cleaning can be made into a physical family activity. Involve the kids and make it fun!

Encourage Healthy Sleeping Habits

Sleep is essential for a healthy body. Research shows that a lack of sleep has a direct negative impact on the immune system of children and adults. Healthy sleeping habits depend on two major factors, regular sleeping patterns and getting enough sleep.

Encourage your children to go to bed and wake up at the same time, every day. Ideally, this should follow on holidays as well. Once a regular sleeping pattern is established as a habit, your child will naturally feel sleepy and wake up at the same times each day. To ensure high quality of sleep, minimize distractions such as noise and light, while making sure your child is Comfortable.

By seeing that your child is getting nutritious food, is physically active and is sleeping well, you can ensure that their immune system is functioning properly.
